My partner does the molding and casting, but it is similar to making cold cast bronze- the metal powder is mixed into the resin when it is liquid and then poured into the mold.

Yeah, doesn't take long to set at all. Pretty well known technique, you can put other stuff like marble powder into resin to get a stone effect too.
